First Sea Day on our way to Hawaii

 DAY 20/138  Sunrise: 7:14 AM  Sunset  5:37 PM       January 8, 2024

After a full day in Santa Barbara, CA yesterday and a late evening attending the Viking World Cruise Welcome Reception meeting the Senior Officers and Hotel Officers an listening to some entertainment I was ready for a long sleep and no exercise this morning.

The yoga group met today but I chose not to go because the seas were so rough.   One of the women I spoke with said she became seasick while there and ended up spending the day in her cabin.  I wondered why there were barf bags in the ladies' restrooms.

This afternoon I joined up again with the crafters corner to work on Sashiko.  John joined up with a Veteran's Get-Together.

John and I like to attend the lectures together.  Yesterday we heard Photographer Mr. James Fraser speak about Capturing the World with your Smartphone.

Later we listened to a lecture by Dr. Ann Carroll Burgess speaking about the Botanicals of Hawaii and the South Pacific.

After lunch we heard Professor John Hay speak about "The Pacific: An Ocean of Islands" .  He gave us an insight to the Pacific Ocean that covers 30% of the Earth's surface and encompasses more than 25,000 islands.

Had an appointment for my monthly haircut this evening.
