LAST DAY AT SEA BEFORE WE ARRIVE IN LOS ANGELES

DAY 17/138     Sunrise:  6:23 AM   Sunset: 6:00 PM

The seas were wild and crazy last night giving the ship a thorough rocking.  John is usually reading in bed while I have dinner with my friends Joel, Anona, and Linda.  I was afraid that he might fall out of bed because of all the shaking.

We know that we will definitely dock near Los Angeles because many passengers are disembarking and many more are embarking for the remainder of the World Cruise.

When we went for breakfast we saw this display showing where we are in the world right now and lo and behold, Yuma was on the map.  As the crow flies we're not that far from home.

And of course we had a brilliant sunrise on the starboard side of the ship.

Today was the last cruise day for passengers who were only traveling from Ft. Lauderdale, FL  to Los Angeles, CA.  We dock in Los Angeles on 1/6/2024 at 5 AM.  I had many hugs and goodbyes to passengers who are not continuing on.  I met so many nice ladies in the craft group and many, many folks in the writing class.  Hopefully we may run into them on another cruise.

Tonight I'm attending a musical performance by Heather Ivy.  I've previewed her online performances and I think it will be a good show.  https://youtu.be/AjtfYAU9TQ8?feature=shared

Tomorrow will be a busy day because the ship is entering the U.S. and all passengers will need to check in with customs.  Our next stop will be Santa Barbara and then on to Hawaii.

My son, Neil, is meeting us at the dock and we'll spend the day with his family.  We're both excited about that.  Haven't seen them since last May.
